The Parkland Course: A challenging 6,494 yard course of undulating grassland featuring a good combination of both par 3 and par 5 holes. The course was designed by the International Architect Howard Swan, which is evident in the play of this popular 18 hole configuration. Of particular note is its natural habitat being graced with the presence of many species of birds and wildfowl.

The Riverside Course: A most challenging course constructed to the same International standards and benefiting from the River Stour which winds through several ponds and water features. An 18 hole course, its length of 6,231 yards provides an excellent course for the more advanced player.

The Knighton Course: This 9 hole par 3 is a great introduction to the shorter game offering holes from 95 to 235 yards. Some of the greens have been designed with three levels making “finishing” in a dramatic style. A super course which will prove to be extremely popular for those golfers with a mission.

SHUTTLE TRAIN SERVICE TO RUN FROM NORDEN PARK & RIDE TO CORFE CASTLE DURING NEW YEAR MAINTENANCE SHUTDOWN- WEEKENDS IN JANUARY & FEBRUARY 2012

The amenity train service for walkers and other visitors using a 1960s heritage diesel rail bus will be running on Saturdays and Sundays from 7 January, 2012, until 26 February, 2012 (inclusive).

Departing Norden Park & Ride as well as Corfe Castle stations every 30 minutes, there will be ten trains a day in each direction between 10.45am and 3.55pm.

Tickets for the special shuttle trains are £1 for an adult single and £2 for an adult return – with children travelling free of charge.

Full steam train services are due to resume between Norden Park & Ride, Corfe Castle, Harman’s Cross, Herston Halt and Swanage on Saturday, 3 March, 2011.

Bournemouth Christmas Market

18th November 2010 to 2nd January 2011 Bournemouth Town Square and surrounding streets will be bursting with Christmas ambience. In the Lower Gardens find a centre-piece nativity scene and a Disney style Arch at the entrance. Bournemouth Square hosts a stage with live entertainment. There will be a Victorian-style Carousel, a climbing Santa and a miniature toboggan ice slide, where the more energetic visitors can sit on a rubber ring and hurtle down the ice run. Visitors can enjoy three types of German Sausage cooked on a traditional German Swing Grill, enjoy steak and potatoes, roasted chestnuts, crepes, traditional sweets and much more.. Wimborne Market was founded in about 1855 by Thomas Ensor, who had already established a livestock market at Dorchester. During the late 19th and early 20th century the market also built up a very large produce auction and thousands of lots of fruit, vegetables, flowers, plants and eggs were sold every Tuesday, which became established as the main market day. By 1990 Wimborne Market had grown into one of the largest open and covered stall markets in the South of England and a multi-storey car park was built. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday there is a general flea market with organic and local produce and a car boot on Saturday and Sunday.

The Drovers Inn was rescued from closure in the year 2000 by Ringwood Brewery then sympathetically refurbished using English Oak & earth tone colours. We have been running the Drovers since 2002 and strive to offer a traditional British country pub.

The Drovers is very much there for its customers and all walks of life are equally catered for. We do not have a restaurant area and we do not lay tables up, our tables are rustic scrubbed oak and are customers are welcome to use those tables for eating, drinking beer or reading the newspaper. We do take table reservations for dinning customers but we will never ask customers to vacate tables for the next booking, or take there pint and newspaper to the bar so that we can sit dinners.

We firmly believe that the heart of the Drovers is its cross section of customers and that you cannot have a country pub with dinners alone drinkers breath life into a pub. That said we are extremely passionate about food and try to source our food locally and responsibly using seasonal produce that is readily available to us in this amazing part of the country. With a monthly main menu & a daily specials board we are able to maintain not only seasonal but also very local dishes which we put together in our kitchen.

It has been a long journey since 2002 and we definitely have a lot further to go but we are very proud of our ‘food ethics’ and what we produce from our kitchen from daily home baked bread to homemade pasta dishes not forgetting our staple dishes that have been with us for nearly ten years but still remain frim customer favourites, Homemade Steak & Kidney Pie, Homemade burgers and the famous Drovers Fish & Chips.

At Moors Valley there is something for everyone…
whether you want to enjoy a peaceful walk or cycle ride through the Forest, experience a ride on an authentic narrow-gauge steam train or even Go Ape on a high wire forest adventure swinging through the tree tops.

There are many miles of paths and tracks through Moors Valley Country Park and Forest. You are welcome to walk on any of these paths however the best routes have been waymarked.

The routes range in distance from 3/4 mile to 5 miles and are easy to follow. They are waymarked on the ground with round posts with the appropriate coloured band however a detailed ‘Explore’ map which shows all the waymarked walk and cycle routes as well as the Fitness Trail features is available to buy for £1 from the Information Point in the Visitor Centre.
