Meadow Cottage Bed and Breakfast and Holiday Cottages are located in the small village of Woodlands, close to the market town of Wimborne Minster, Dorset.
Set in open countryside, we offer an idyllic haven from everyday life.

We are unable to accomodate children because of deep water lakes and insurance restrictions.

Wimborne Minster

A bustling Market Town with a stunning cathedral, museums, restaurants, theatre and tons of history and events.

Verwood

Historically a village that went on to become the UKs fastest growing town. Boasting popular restaurants such as ‘Spice of India’ and ‘Altrullo’, mixed with the traditional pub food at the Monmouth Ash. Verwood has the nearest supermarket (Morrisons).

Ringwood

Ringwood is the Western Gateway to the beautiful New Forest, at a crossing point of the River Avon. For centuries it has been the traditional market town of the New Forest with its market charter dating back to 1226. Ringwood still has a lively street market and has remained a delightful, unspoilt historic town with both quaint and modern shops, street entertainment, restaurants, pubs and cafes.

Horton

Horton is a small village, situated on the boundary between the chalk downland of Cranborne Chase and the heathland of the New Forest. The village has two unusual buildings: the Horton Tower, a five storey gothic red brick observatory designed by Humphrey Sturt, and the 18th century Georgian church of St Wolfrida, built on the site of the tenth century Horton Priory.  The village once had a Manor House but this was superseded by Crichel House, a nearby stately home, and the Manor House decayed and was pulled down. The stables, now converted into the rectory, and a large ornamental lake, remain.

Poole Beaches and Sandbanks

Sandbanks can be located at the eastern end of the long sandy beach that stretches from Sandbanks. The main attraction however, is the beach itself, Sandbanks Beach known as the best beach in the UK. Many tourists flock to the beach yearly and in the summer.  The beach is also popular for windsurfers and generally all people that like water sports. You can visit the beach in total piece of mind knowing that not only you will have a great time but also you will be visiting one of the safest beaches in Europe!  Beachfront Facilities included at Sandbanks, toilets (with full disabled facilities) , showers, other food and drink bars.

Bournemouth Beaches

Seven miles of award-winning beaches nestled beneath a magnificent cliff line. The bay enjoys stunning views of the Isle of Wight and the Purbecks.

Kingston Lacy

Home of the Bankes family for more than 300 years, this striking 17th-century house is noted for its lavish interiors.

Wimborne St Giles

Lying at the edge of the Cranborne Chase, the peaceful village of Wimborne St Giles has a timeless quality. Sturdy houses share the village green with almshouses dating to 1624, and a church which combines a modern parish function with that of a memorial to one of Dorset’s oldest families – the Ashley-Coopers, Earls of Shaftesbury.

Blandford

Blandford Forum developed as one of the major market towns in the eastern part of Dorset during the later medieval period.

Ferndown

Ferndown is situated in East Dorset adjoining the boundaries of the larger towns of Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch and is surrounded by open countryside and woodlands. It has a lively and thriving town centre, which is airy, clean and convenient for residents and visitors.

Christchurch

Christchurch town has existed in one form or another since the iron age when the area between the River Avon and the River Stour was used as a trading point and safe mooring for visiting traders. Still welcoming visitors, this area of coastline remains unknown to many.
